Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform, Mr Mcebisi Skwatsha will be celebrating the life of former President, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela by honouring him with a heritage celebration to be held at the Drakenstein (formerly called Victor Verster Prison) where Tata Mandela was released on the 11th of February 1990. The Deputy President, Mr DD Mabuza will be the keynote speaker at this celebration.
The event will also focus on the plight of farmworkers and dwellers living in Drakenstein as the area has been declared one of the hotspots in respect to farm evictions.
It is anticipated that Deputy President will address the issue of unnecessary farm evictions in the Cape Winelands District.
