The Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform, Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane will on Saturday, 12 May 2018, conduct a site visit of the Richmond Park Restitution project in Milnerton, Cape Town.
The Richmond Park, a new multi-billion rand mixed-use property development is situated in a greenfields site in Milnerton adjacent to the N7 highway. The land is developed on 84 hectares as a landmark business park and mixed-use precinct consisting of retail, light industrial commercial and warehousing property development.
Currently, the property has been fenced and enclosed with a perimeter fence and private and public spaces have been demarcated. Top structures are being developed.
A land claim to have ownership of the land was restored to its original owners in 2011 and land was officially transferred to Richmond Park Communal Property Association (CPA) in December 2014.
In terms of beneficiaries, there are about 401 household comprising 4314 beneficiaries who were removed from the Richmond Park area between 1972 and 1984.
