Minister Didiza to visit the Mathulini area in KwaZulu-Natal to defuse tensions
Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development Minister, Thoko Didiza, and the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi, will on Tuesday, 27 August 2019, visit the area of Mathulini in Mthwalume in the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, to meet with disgruntled groups and community members.

The minister’s visit is aimed at defusing tensions over the ownership of land between disgruntled groups and the Communal Property Association (CPA) in the area.
Over the past weeks, tensions, which have allegedly resulted in the damage of property and an attack on farm owner, who was thrown into a fire, have been reported.

Following these incidents and letters of grievances from both groups, the minister sent a team to go and investigate the cause of the tension and report back to her.

The details of the meeting are as follows:
Venue: Umzumbe Municipality Offices
Date: 27 August 2019
Time: 10H00
