Minister to launch the one household one hectare programme and R59 million irrigation scheme in KZN
The Minister of Rural Development & Land Reform, Minister Gugile Nkwinti will on Friday, 29th July 2016 handover portions of land to members of the Mooi River community in Kwazulu Natal as part of the One Household One Hectare Program.

Atleast 47 households will benefit from the initiative aimed at poverty reduction, improving food security and creating employment in rural areas. Two state farms, Manana and Hlanganani have been subdivided into one hectare portions primarily for crop production. Beneficiaries are community members who are largely subsistence farmers.

On Saturday 30th July 2016, the Minister will launch the R59 million Insuze Irrigation Scheme at Nkandla under Uthungulu District. The scheme is a Greenfield initiative which will benefit 500 people.
